Porter House Bar and Grill, award winning American Grill and Steakhouse, part of the Restaurant Collection at the Deutsche Bank Center, is seeking a bartender for immediate hire. A qualified candidate must have 3+ years NYC experience, must be service oriented, and must have an innate sense of hospitality. The candidate must be able to work quickly and cleanly while maintaining high service standards.

*Job Summary*

Bartender effectively leads a shift to ensure Porter House’s operational excellence and is responsible for overseeing guest service, cash handling, drink preparations and opening/closing procedures of the bar with or without a member of the management team present.

*Job Responsibilities*

* Knowledge of Porter House menu of both food and beverage, able to answer, recommend, and upsell items to guests as well as serving to table

* Knowledge of classic cocktails and liquors, able to answer, recommend, and upsell items to guests that may not be on the menu

* Safety and Sanitation knowledge and upkeep

* Assure that opening/closing procedure is completed and that the bar is prepared for opening/closing

* POS System and cash handling

* Assist in maintaining inventory of bar products, including alcohol, soft drinks, garnishes and supplies to ensure high volume of daily and weekly sales.

* Maintaining the bar equipment

* Performs other related duties as assigned

*Job Skills & Requirements*

* At least 3 years prior bartending experience, preferably at a high-volume restaurant

* At least 3 years previous money handling position, preferably at a high-volume restaurant

* Must present a neat and professional appearance while upholding a warm, positive and friendly persona at all times

* Must have knowledge of beverages, glassware, and garnishes

* Must possess the ability to initiate and maintain a relaxed and upbeat demeanor in a fast-paced environment with constant distractions

* Must be able to work a flexible schedule to include days, nights, weekends and holidays
