While our roots are in Midtown, our team is expanding with the exciting addition of a sister restaurant in Brooklyn this coming fall/winter 2024. We are looking for key leadership positions as we start to prepare for its opening.

About This Role

The Sous Chef is a leader in ensuring the Company's culinary and operating standards are met. In the absence of the Executive Chef, the Sous Chef is responsible for upholding the highest quality standards by being well versed in the recipes, plate, and product specifications and cooking techniques of the menu. They need to be familiar with and drive sanitation regulations and showcase those standards within the operation.

Specific job duties include, but are not limited to:

* Works closely with Corporate Chef, CDC and kitchen staff to ensure food standards are met

* Alongside the CDc, leads the kitchen team through service, showcasing strong leadership

* Executes food, beverage, service, and hospitality service that aligns with the brand

* Methodically approaches food production and quality standards with a keen eye to detail

* Organizes kitchen space and enforces the same standards with the kitchen team

* Assist in the identification and hire of great kitchen talent, develops them into great leaders

* Participates in interviews for hourly kitchen employees

* Ensures that operational and training standards are consistently followed and executed

* Effectively leads by demonstrating a professional approach with coworkers through great leadership skills, ethics, and team development

Compensation and Benefits

* 75K - 85K

Position Requirements:

* 3+ years of culinary experience required, preferably in a Sous Chef capacity within a fine dining concept or similar caliber concept

* High school diploma or GED

* Bachelor's degree in culinary arts or similar subject preferred

* Ability to work a variable schedule, including nights, weekends, and holidays, per the needs of the business

* Ability to utilize traditional computer programs such as Gmail, Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint), ADP, and any additional systems; Ability to access and accurately input information using a moderately complex computer system

* Excellent time management and organizational skills

* Adaptable in a fast-paced and challenging work environment

Physical Demands:

* Ability to see, hear, and speak

* Ability to lift, carry, push, or pull 50+ pounds

* Ability to walk, stand, and/or bend continuously and for extended periods as required to perform essential job functions

* Ability to safely navigate hazardous situations and conditions that produce cuts or minor burns

* Ability to safely navigate exposure to hot and cold temperatures, such as when working near ovens or retrieving food from freezers, as well as contaminants and hazardous equipment
