*Red Hook Tavern is looking to hire a General Manager/Beverage Director who will be an asset to a dynamic and compassionate team.* This person will work closely with the Executive Chef as well as manage a strong group of service professionals.

Red Hook Tavern brings classic American tavern fare to the waterfront village in Brooklyn. Offering a timeless menu now known for its handmade pastas, spicy mussels and the legendary 45-Day Dry Aged Cheeseburger, alongside its coveted wine list, that guests come from all over the world to enjoy.

The General Manager/Beverage Director position demands creativity daily, excellent communication and problem-solving skills, and the ability to maintain the highest level of standards. The General Manager must work well under pressure, and he/she/they must be organized, flexible, self-motivated, and reliable. A strong level of wine, beer, and cocktail knowledge is necessary to succeed in this role, as well as a willingness and openness to learn and grow. Operational expertise and experience with budget management are crucial to this role.

*Responsibilities include and not limited to:*

Opening & closing the restaurant

Running pre-shift meetings

Beverage inventory, orders, and deliveries

Lead and oversee bar team on wine, beer and cocktails

Actively selling and retrieving wine during service

Supporting host and service team

Forming and maintaining relationships with guests by providing superior service and customer care

Enforcing policies and protocol

Handles budget administration and preparation, including forecasting, profit and loss accountability, cost control, and inventories

Manages the performance of team members and provides feedback to improve productivity

Interviews, selects, and trains employees

Ensures compliance with established safety and health policies and procedures

Running a nightly report

Scheduling

Processing credit card and cash payments
