Il Giglio Tribeca is seeking an experienced and charismatic *Captain* to join our front-of-house team in delivering an exceptional dining experience. As a key figure in our upscale Italian restaurant, you will be responsible for ensuring impeccable service, overseeing staff, and maintaining the highest hospitality standards. The ideal candidate is a natural leader with a deep knowledge of Italian cuisine and fine dining etiquette.

*Key Responsibilities:*

* *Guest Experience:* Provide a warm, professional, and memorable dining experience for all guests.

* *Team Leadership:* Train, mentor, and oversee runners and bussers to maintain service excellence.

* *Service Coordination:* Ensure smooth and efficient service flow, from seating to table management and order accuracy.

* *Menu Expertise:* Demonstrate in-depth knowledge of our Italian menu, wine pairings, and daily specials, confidently making recommendations to guests.

* *Quality Control:* Uphold high standards for food presentation, service timing, and overall dining ambiance.

* *Problem Resolution:* Handle guest inquiries, complaints, and special requests with professionalism and discretion.

* *Collaboration:* Work closely with staff & management to provide exemplary service.

* *Upselling & Revenue Generation:* Promote premium dishes, wine pairings, and special offerings to enhance guest satisfaction and sales.

*Qualifications & Experience:

*

* Minimum *3-5 years* of experience in a successful fine dining or upscale restaurant.

* Expertise in Italian cuisine and wine, with a preference for candidates with sommelier training or equivalent knowledge.

* Honest, with a strong sense of self & memorable personality.

* Italian speaking a plus

* Sommelier training or a deep knowledge of wine a plus

* Strong leadership and communication skills.

* Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment while maintaining grace and efficiency.

* Knowledge of restaurant reservation systems (e.g., OpenTable, Resy) and POS systems.

* Flexible availability, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
