Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Line Cook/Prep Cook to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for food and a commitment to maintaining high standards of food safety and quality. This role involves preparing ingredients, cooking meals, and ensuring that all dishes are served in a timely manner while adhering to our restaurant's standards.
Duties
* Prepare and cook menu items according to recipes and specifications.
* Assist in meal preparation for catering events and special functions.
* Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen and food storage areas.
* Ensure all food safety protocols are followed, including proper food handling and storage practices.
* Collaborate with the kitchen team to plan menus and prepare seasonal offerings.
* Monitor inventory levels of ingredients and supplies, reporting any shortages to management.
* Assist in training new kitchen staff on food preparation techniques and safety standards.
Skills
* Experience in the food industry, particularly in roles such as dietary aide or within a dietary department.
* Strong knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices for food handling.
* Proficient in meal preparation techniques with an understanding of various cooking methods.
* Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced restaurant environment while maintaining attention to detail.
* Familiarity with menu planning and catering services is a plus.
* Excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively within a team setting.
