*Description:*

We are seeking an exceptional Chef de Cuisine to join our esteemed Latin American and Asian restaurant in NYC. With 3 NYT stars and a reputation for excellence, our restaurant is looking for a talented culinary professional ready to contribute to and enhance our renowned dining experience.

*Requirements:*

- Experience: Minimum of 2 years in a high-paced kitchen environment, preferably with experience in NYT-starred restaurants.

- Operational Knowledge: Strong understanding of kitchen operations, including labor management, cost control, and inventory.

- Teamwork: Proven ability to work collaboratively with the Executive Chef and kitchen staff, including training and mentoring junior team members.

- Technical Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, labor tracking software, and POS systems.

- Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

- Certification: Valid DOH Food Handler’s Certificate.

*Preferred Qualifications:*

- Experience with Latin American cuisine

- Experience with Japanese cuisine

- Proficiency in Spanish

*Responsibilities:*

- Lead food cost control and BOH labor cost control

- Inventory Management: Assist with weekly food inventory and invoice reconciliation.

- Vendor Coordination: Support the management of relationships with food vendors and oversee daily food ordering and preparation.

- Team Support: Aid in training new team members, ensure adherence to high standards, and step in as needed to support the kitchen team.

- Quality Control: Help maintain exceptional quality in ingredient selection, preparation, and plating. Conduct regular line checks to ensure consistency.

- Compliance: Ensure adherence to all DOH standards and maintain the kitchen's readiness for inspections.

- Cost Management: Assist in tracking labor and food costs to meet budgetary targets.

*Physical Requirements:*

- Ability to walk, stand, and/or bend continuously for extended periods.

- Ability to lift 30+ lbs.

- Flexibility to work nights, weekends, holidays, and variable schedules based on business needs.
