The Bar back maintains all b ar environment and equipment. The Barback is responsible for ensuring the bar area is clean , tidy, and fully stocked. The Barback focuses on assisting Bartenders to ensure they have everything they need to serve customers efficiently.
This position has an hourly rate of $16 + Tips.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
* Setup and breakdown of bar stations.
* Replenish beverages as necessary and check with guest s for overall satisfaction.
* Mark bar counter appropriately to food order for each course.
* Maintain cleanliness of the bar area at all times , ensure bar area is well stocked with supplies and beverages including:
* S traighte n bar area continuously ; restock bar with clean glasses.
* C lean counters, floors, shelves, and refrigerators; remove trash.
* C heck coolers and shelves to ensure proper stocking of beer, wine, liquor,
and all beverages ; stock bar with ice as needed.
* C heck for supplies such as sugar, salt, stir sticks, straws, napkins as per
specified inside work list.
* Requisition of additional supplies as needed.
* C ut fruit and garnishes ; r etriev e special garnishes from kitchen.
* Sweeping and mopping in and around bar service areas and customer common areas.
* Verify each guest satisfaction during each course or beverage served.
* Anticipate guest needs, as to where guests will never have to ask for anything.
* W ish every guest a warm farewell and thank them for coming.
* All other responsibilities assigned by Management.
Additional Duties and Responsibilities
* Report all suspicious persons or activities and hazardous or unsafe conditions to the management.
* Understand and follow the laws and guidelines for beverage service.
* Provide excellent service at all times to all of our guests , a ssist g uest s courteously and efficiently.
* Respond to all guest questions. Provide guest assistance , direction, and information as requested when working in public areas.
* Assist Bar and Lobby Lounge cocktail server in lounge when necessary.
* Attend all food and beverage training classes.
* Following the posted opening and closing duties an d side work sheet.
* Attend daily pre meal/communication meeting.
* Attend monthly department meeting.
* Generate a good atmosphere.
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS
* 2 years’ experience in a luxury hotel environment or similar r estauran t o r bar setting.
* Positive, engaging, and energetic personality.
* Ab le to be organized, manage time wisely and work with little to no direct supervision.
* Very high attention to detail.
* Se nsitive to cultural nuances.
* Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal on English.
* Able to handle a multitude of tasks in an intense, fast paced environment.
* Excellent people skills and the ability to work under pressure and with various stakeholders.
* Ability to maintain a clean and p rofessional appearance as per company policies.
* Ability to carry, push, and pull heavy loads up to 50 lbs ; standing, bending and lifting will be required.
* Must be comfortable with exposure to the elements, as some duties may require outdoor work or exposure to varying weather conditions.
* Ability to stand for extended periods of time.
* Multi-lingual is a plus.
